Remote Trekking Company in Himalayas Engages HCP & Associates for U.S. Launch
Thimphu, Bhutan (Wednesday, July 30, 2008) Nestled deep in the Himalayas between India and China, Bhutan is a small country referred to as “The Magical Kingdom” where the main concern of daily life is exceeding the country’s level of gross national happiness.
Veteran Tour Guide Karma Letho, founder of DhenZang Travel, located in Thimphu; the country’s capital city has been working with HCP & Associates to launch their new global identity package and a unique Web presence with an emphasis on search engine optimization (SEO). HCP will serve as the company’s U.S. based marketing division for 2008-2009.
The country got tremendous attention in 2007 when The Today Show featured The Magical Kingdom with “Where in the World is Matt Lauer”. Pristine Bhutan has recently seen a surge in visitors in the past three years as the King has opened the small country for tourism, permitting a limited amount of visitors per year; a coveted number of only 250,000 people worldwide.
The Kingdom sits high up in the Himalayas, but is roughly at the latitude of Florida. And the country has moved slowly into the 21st century. The first paved roads were completed in the 1960s, and televisions only showed up eight years ago. Looking for a traffic light? Keep looking. Before the ngultrum became a money unit in the 1970s, there was no national currency.
