Port Tampa Bay Awards HCP Associates with Strategic Communications Contract
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 27, 2021) – Port Tampa Bay’s (PTB) Board of Commissioners voted unanimously during the Port’s monthly business meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21 to select HCP Associates, Inc. for a one year contract, with a two-year extension option for strategic communications from November 1, 2021, to October 31, 2024.
HCP Associates was the incumbent firm in this process and had previously served Port Tampa Bay for the same contracted strategic communications services for a three-year term and an additional one-year extension covering four years of service from 2017-2021.

PTB’s Procurement Department initially issued the bid document specifications on July 22, 2021. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ No. Q-006-21) submissions were submitted on August 26, 2021, and reviewed by the PTB Evaluation Committee on Thursday, September 9, 2021, to rank the proposals received in response to the above referenced RFQ. Preliminary rankings placed HCP Associates, Inc. as the number one vendor of choice out of three finalists.
HCP Associates has worked with senior PTB staff on a variety of issues, offering the most support for the Director of Communications, Lisa Wolf-Chason. HCP staff have assisted Wolf-Chason with media requests, special events, crisis communications, media relations, social media, digital industry communications, and media strategies. Additionally, HCP has provided marcomm services and consulting for several other PTB departments and tactics including marketing, operations, strategic planning, and executive initiatives.
