HCP Research Surveys Economic Impact of Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF)
TAMPA, FL (April 5, 2012) Tampa-based research, strategy and marketing firm, HCP, was recently asked to develop an attendee survey for the Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF).
GIFF is the annual film festival, operated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit Tampa Film Institute. First launched in the summer of 2006, the Tampa Film Institute has grown into an entertaining and educational year-round entity in Tampa Bay. It continually upholds its mission to provide year-long support for film screening, production and education, throughout the Tampa Bay region.
The festival attracts actors, filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from all over the world, for the four-day event. In order to ensure that the event continues to grow and have a positive economic impact on the region, the GIFF board approached HCP to develop a brief survey of festival attendees. Festival volunteers asked attendees to complete a brief electronic questionnaire using iPads, while waiting for screenings and events to begin.
Responses to the survey will be used by GIFF in attaining grants to further expand the mission of the Tampa Film Institute. Additionally, the economic impact data will help to illustrate the impact of the film industry, within Tampa Bay.
