HCP Associates completes study for the School District of Manatee County

BRADENTON, Fla. (December 15, 2022) – HCP Associates recently completed a community needs assessment study for Blanche H. Daughtrey Elementary School on behalf of the School District of Manatee County.

Daughtrey Elementary School, a Title I and minority-majority school in Bradenton, FL, is in the process of becoming a Community Partnership School. This distinction allows the school to offer a variety of programs and services leveraged through its partnership with several core partners, such as a healthcare provider, a community-based non-profit, and a university or college.

HCP was engaged by the School District of Manatee County to assess the unmet needs of children and families that are a part of the Daughtrey community. First, HCP Associates designed a survey instrument used by faculty and staff during in-person survey dispatches. HCP then translated, recorded, and analyzed the survey data.

“This study provides valuable insights into the opinions of Daughtrey community members on what services they need most,” said Robert Allen, Vice President at HCP Associates. “This study clearly shows the importance families placed on health care and additional educational support.” Respondents prioritized basic healthcare services, dental care, and one-on-one or small group homework help when asked which services, out of all services mentioned in the study, would help empower families with children to achieve long-term success. These findings illustrate the importance of gauging members’ perceptions on which services and programs are most desired from a broad set of potential services.

These insights provided by HCP’s research will help guide core partners in the decision-making process on which services the school will provide to community members.

Findings will be presented to key stakeholders in Manatee County in January 2023.
