Ausley Construction Turns Heads at Industry Conference
BOCA RATON, Fla. (July 19, 2017)–Only in Florida do people flock to see a gator at a trade show. HCP developed a clever concept for Ausley Construction’s tradeshow booth.
It was part of the Florida Educational Facilities Planners Association’s (FEFPA) Summer Conference in Boca Raton. Builders, architects and designers are among those at the event.
Ausley specializes in commercial construction for educational, health and other facilities. This was their first year to attend FEFPA.
“Our client is a medium-sized growing company and wanted to make an impact among many larger competitors at FEFPA,” said Business Strategist and Partner Sean Coniglio. “We wanted to garner some attention at the show.”
HCP partnered with the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami who provided Ausley’s tradeshow booth with a two-foot long gator and a handler.
“They’re based in Ocala, they’re fans of the University of Florida whose mascot is a gator and it just clicked,” said Coniglio. “We’ve worked with zoos and aquariums in the past and animals are always a big attraction.”
“We support our park and the animals solely off the tours and offsite events,” said Mario Tabraue, President and Director of the Zoological Wildlife Foundation. “We were appreciative for the business.”
The alligator created enormous buzz at the show. Visitors and exhibitors lined up to get a photo with the pint-sized reptile.
“It’s unexpected,” said CEO Ken Ausley. “It may be the only time you see people running to hold a gator.”
“One of the unique advantages we have as a firm is the diversity of client businesses and our community involvement,” said Coniglio. “It allows us to develop and cross market ideas that otherwise would never be thought of. It’s what separates us as a firm.”
