The Challenge
Tampa-based Diamond View Studios invested a large amount of time and capital to create and brand their 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art virtual production studio called The Vū. The virtual studio contains a massive LED screen with the technological capabilities of motion control robotics and advanced motion capture. Developed during a very uncertain time of movie and TV production lockdowns due to the global COVID pandemic, this was a big deal to make a major national push to big media and film/TV industry professionals offering a realistic alternative to traveling crews around the globe. Additionally, there were already in-house big global brands like Mercedes working with Diamond View to rollout Superbowl commercials while the event took place in Tampa in 2021.
The Solution
HCP created a PR strategy and a very precise timeline to target national and international media outlets and film and entertainment industry professionals to create a major news story around the woes of film and TV production shutdowns in 2020. Although many media outlets, digital, broadcast, and traditional were attracted to the Mandalorian Technology, it was National NBC Correspondent and USF grad Kerry Sanders with the TODAY Show that was intrigued immediately and began conversing with the HCP Team to create a spot that would be out of this world and to be aired on national TV during Superbowl Weekend. Which the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won, by the way.
