YouImpact
Client: YouImpact
Industry: Healthcare (Rehabilitation)
Challenge: You Impact, LLC. was born out of the time and volunteer efforts of Anna Redgate. Redgate is a community activist who has spent more than a decade volunteering in communities throughout the state of Florida. Redgate’s daughter, Grace, was killed by a repeat DUI offender when the family was out for a stroll on New Year’s Day, 2000. Only nine months old at the time of her death, Grace is the inspiration behind Redgate’s heroic efforts to make America’s roads and highways safer.
YouImpact had gathered hundreds of hours of video documented stories and developed a general mission with a documented curriculum, but had not developed the actual online database application or brand platform to successfully and strategically launch the program in the state of Florida.
Solution: Working with the YouImpact team, victims, offenders, judges, attorneys and various other participants, HCP began building a functional model that would build off of the “Ripple Effect” created when a person decides to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated.
After initial research, strategic planning, brand development and product programming for the new entity titled “YouImpact”. This unique D.U.I. Impact Program was the first of its kind to be developed entirely for the Internet.
HCP designed a plan for the program, and developed a brand that she could take to conferences. Redgate wanted this brand to embody her aspirations of raising awareness and inspiring personal change by bringing to life the stories of real people impacted by destructive driving decisions.
HCP collaborated with programmers, film experts and Redgate’s team to completely design the online program, from the ground up. This included copy development for the instructions, design comps, functionality testing, imagery sourcing, filming and video editing. The program included a Q&A section following each video, and participants needed to score a certain percentage of questions correctly, in order to move through the program. Redgate showcased the AfterMyDUI program at the Florida Association of Community Corrections (FACC), and continues outreach to judges and attorneys throughout the United States, to get her program included in offender sentencing.
